Town of Warrensburg
The Town of Warrensburg has received funds from New York State Office of Homes and Community Renewal to provide housing assistance to homeowners within the Town of Warrensburg:
Eligibility Guidelines
- Applicant must own, occupy, and have title to the land.
- The property must be located in the Town of Warrensburg;
- The property must be used entirely for residential purposes;
- Applicant must be current with all local, school and property taxes;
- Applicant household must meet income eligibility requirements.
Submitting an application does not guarantee a grant award, nor does it obligate the property owner to accept grant funding. Funding is limited. Applications will be processed on a first come, first served basis.

Warrensburg Main Street Target Area Renovation Program
The Warrensburg Main Street Target Area Renovation Program is designed to assist owners of commercial, mixed-use, and other eligible non-residential buildings located within the Warrensburg Hamlet Target Area. The program provides financial assistance for building renovations that strengthen downtown businesses, improve upper-floor housing, preserve historic character, and increase the occupancy and long-term vitality of Main Street.
Funding is competitive and subject to approval by the New York State Office of Homes and Community Renewal. If awarded, grants will be available to eligible property owners for qualified rehabilitation projects.
Eligible Improvements
Projects may include:
- Commercial façade improvements
- Interior commercial rehabilitation
- Creation of new upper-floor residential units
- Rehabilitation of existing residential units
- Building code and life safety improvements
- Accessibility improvements
- Historic preservation and restoration
- Energy efficiency improvements
- Plumbing, electrical, HVAC, roofing, windows, and other building system upgrades
Other eligible improvements consistent with New York Main Street Program guidelines
All funded projects must result in a safe, code-compliant, occupiable commercial or residential unit.
Eligibility Guidelines
Applicants must generally meet the following requirements:
- The property must be a commercial, mixed-use, or other eligible non-residential building located within the Warrensburg Hamlet Target Area.
- The applicant must own the property or have written authorization from the property owner.
- Property taxes must be current.
- Proposed improvements must comply with program requirements, applicable building codes, and all state and local regulations.
- The proposed project must result in one or more occupiable commercial or residential units.
- Applicants must be willing to execute a grant agreement and complete all required program documentation.
Submission of an application does not guarantee funding. Grant awards are contingent upon the Town of Warrensburg receiving funding through the New York Main Street Program and are subject to program availability.
