Housing Assistance Programs

creating healthier homes and
more vibrant communities

Affordable housing is the cornerstone of a healthy and vibrant community. It is imperative that municipalities maintain housing that is habitable for its residents and maintain the affordability of housing stock, so that everyone from the dishwasher at a local restaurant to the CEO of a major corporation can call your community home from generation to generation. This is accomplished by ensuring that existing housing stock is structurally stable, free from health and safety hazards, accessible to people of all ages and abilities, and energy efficient. Where there is insufficient affordable housing, this sometimes includes the construction of new affordable homes.

Flatley Read, Inc. has been a proud grant writer and administrator of Housing Assistance Programs for municipalities and non-profit organizations for more than twenty years. These programs are typically funded through Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and the New York State Office of Homes and Community Renewal (NYSHCR) to fund housing rehabilitation and new affordable housing construction.
